World Environment Day 2026 Celebrated Through Awareness and Action at Dubai Island Project
6 June، 2026
As part of World Environment Day 2026, Project R1013/2F – Improvement of Al Shindagha Corridor: Access to Dubai Island from Bur Dubai Side marked the occasion through a series of environmental initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability, environmental stewardship, and workforce engagement.
The celebrations commenced with an environmental awareness session attended by senior management representatives from China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) and members of the project workforce. The session highlighted the importance of environmental protection, sustainable construction practices, and the collective responsibility of all personnel in minimizing environmental impacts. Workers actively participated in the session and subsequently took a collective environmental pledge, reaffirming their commitment to protecting the environment both on and off the project site. Signage activities were also carried out, formally launching the project’s environmental campaign and reinforcing key environmental messages across the workforce.

As part of the World Environment Day programme, a site-wide cleanup campaign was also organized with the participation of workers and project staff. The initiative focused on improving site cleanliness, promoting good housekeeping practices, and encouraging a proactive approach towards maintaining a clean and sustainable working environment. Through the collective efforts of the workforce, the cleanup activity demonstrated the project’s commitment to environmental responsibility and continuous improvement, while translating environmental awareness into tangible action on the ground.
By combining awareness, commitment, and action, the World Environment Day activities successfully strengthened environmental consciousness across the project and highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability into daily construction operations. The initiatives reflect the shared commitment of CSCEC and the workforce towards protecting the environment while building infrastructure for the future.
