The activities of the eighth annual conference of the Emirates Dermatology Society 2024, organized by the Division of Dermatology at the Emirates Dermatology Society kicked off this morning at the InterContinental Hotel Dubai – Festival City, in the presence of about 500 doctors from leading international and local experts and specialists from dermatologists, cosmetology and laser from different countries of the world.

Dr. Mona Al Marwi, Head of the Emirates Division of Dermatology and President of the Conference, said in his opening speech that the conference will discuss over three days more than 85 working papers related to the latest developments related to dermatology and cosmetics, explaining that the scientific program includes a number of various scientific workshops that discuss the most important dermatological and cosmetic diseases and methods of treatment through a group of the most prominent speakers and experts at the local and international levels to discuss the latest global developments in the field of skin sciences. Laser and cosmetology in order to improve health care to provide doctors participating in the conference with scientific skills and international expertise to put into practice in their daily practices to promote and encourage the highest quality standards in health care for patients with dermatology and cosmetic diseases.

Dr. Mona Al-Marawi explained that the conference will also discuss hair and nail diseases, acne, skin cancer, women’s health in dermatology, the latest scientific findings in hair diseases and imbalances and its cultivation, skin tumors and their laser treatments, which now take a large space in the treatment of skin diseases such as skin pigmentation, the effects of burns, blood birthmarks, varicose veins, tattoos and the most prevalent skin diseases such as psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema and fungi of all kinds.

She pointed out that the conference, which is one of the largest dermatology conferences in the region, seeks to enhance awareness efforts and raise the awareness of health care workers in the field of dermatology and prevention, and enable the local medical community to learn about the latest international medical practices proven by scientific evidence, in addition to highlighting the most important success stories in this field with the participation of an international elite of specialists in dermatology, cosmetology, laser and related research.

The President of the Conference revealed the introduction of a new drug in the country for urticaria in addition to new generations of biological drugs for vitiligo and psoriasis, noting that the UAE is one of the fastest countries in registering medicines to provide the best treatments for patients, noting that the country is one of the first countries to use artificial intelligence in diagnosing skin diseases such as psoriasis and skin cancers, in addition to using artificial intelligence with laser devices in the treatment

 

Dr. Mona indicated that the conference, which is held in cooperation with the American Society of Dermatology, will discuss skin diseases that affect pregnant women, appropriate treatments, causes of hair loss, allergies, psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema and fungi of all kinds, noting that the exhibition accompanying the conference, in which more than 29 local and international companies participate, will display the latest technologies and devices used in the field of diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases, laser treatment techniques and cosmetic treatment. She pointed out that many exhibiting companies are participating this year in the exhibition and presenting the latest devices and the latest medical equipment related to dermatology, cosmetology and laser. , especially as global manufacturers now view the UAE as the main gateway to the MENA market.

She explained that a number of workshops will be held on the sidelines of the conference, including a workshop to train junior dermatologists to hone their skills and provide them with scientific and practical experience.

Speakers from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Singapore, India, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates will participate in the conference to present their latest experiences and research on various skin diseases.
