Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) will host the fifth Dubai Shoulder Surgery Course and Exhibition, organized by the Emirates Orthopedic Division in cooperation with the Arab Shoulder and Elbow Society, from October 25 to 27, with the participation of 18 countries. The course aims to present new strategies to provide doctors with the highest levels of analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic practices for laparoscopic shoulder surgery with the participation of 48 regional and international lecturers and is organized by Infoplus Events.
Dr. Saeed Al-Thani, President of the Arab Society of Shoulder and Attachment, Consultant Orthopedic Surgery, Medical Endoscopy, Sports Medicine and Joint Reconstruction, said that the topics and lectures that will be discussed throughout the conference include reviewing new principles and techniques, injuries around the shoulder, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, joint implantation, fracture management and complex causes of the shoulder, and will also focus on reviewing new principles and techniques, peri-shoulder injuries, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, joint implantation, fracture management, and complex causes of the shoulder, pointing out that the conference Bringing together faculty and experts, it will also focus on best-known practices, the latest technology, and evidence-based research related to joint injury care. Dr. Saeed Al-Thani explained that the program includes 16 scientific sessions, 85 lectures, four live surgeries, 3 workshops for cadaver operations, a physiotherapy workshop and 3 seminars for the industrial sector with the participation of more than 15 companies from the most important pharmaceutical and medical devices companies as sponsors of the conference.
He added that the course will also discuss technological developments and introduce modern techniques in the field of shoulder surgery such as joint design, the use of a three-dimensional printer, and innovation in robotic surgeries, and difficult cases will be presented to be discussed, in addition to seminars and workshops to train doctors on the best ways to replace joints, in addition to discussing the latest global developments in sports medicine and joint reimplantation, and the specifications required for each region, pointing out that the anatomy of the Asian patient is different from the Western or European patient and therefore It is imperative to design special things for the Middle Eastern patient that suit a special environment.
Dr. Ali Makdis, Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in shoulder at Kuwait Oil Hospital, Department of Orthopedics, said that the conference aims to create a platform that brings together a group of doctors and specialists in shoulder surgery from around the world under one roof to discuss modern developments and techniques in the treatment of orthopedic diseases.
